Hello all,
Me and a couple of my friends are in the planning process of starting a new electronic magazine, by the blind and for the blind and friends of the blind. We have experience working for other magazine projects and are very excited about starting our own; but I wanted to know if this idea sounds interesting to you? What would you like to read or have included in such a magazine? What would you like to get from your experience in reading such a magazine. ETC. ETC. I know and understand that there are other publications out there for the blind and some that have not succeeded. However we are developing some new ideas and methods and are very excited of what's to come. Please share your thoughts and ideas.

Ok, so, as someone who is completely blind I'm not going to lie to you. Being blind is difficult for me to 'read a magazine'. Now, that being said, all I can really say is what you would probably expect.
First, if the 'zine is digital then please code in t.t.s. accessable formats. Go for broke, Ios, android, windows. If you really want to stand out then you might debate developing your own app as a stand-alone.
Second, well the list of things can go for miles. I like to stay on top of medical news concerning the blind. As well as tech news for the blind. Screen readers, scripts, apps in both ios and android, entertainment apps, and generally everything to do with it.jobs and careers might be something to consider, as in 'these jobs a visually impared person can train for'.
Please, don't take this the wrong way but noone's going to be as excited at your magazine as you are. Don't get me wrong, most likely I will read it, but for real stand alone features I wouldn't go all-apple-all-the-time lol.
Oh, I just thought of something. You might want to consider showcasing apps that allow for a social aspect, i.e. meeting new people. I hope this helps a little.
