Would appreciate your feedback on a new audio reddit app. (self.Blind)
submitted 9y ago by herpderpherpderp
Hi guys,

We've just put together a new audio-navigation reddit app for Android and would be interested in getting your feedback. The app is free & ad-free.

/r/herddit

At the moment, it will probably require having a sighted helper assist in doing the initial set-up, but after that we're hoping that it might be useful to you guys.

Interested to hear your thoughts (literally!).

I know this is an older post, but if you're still looking for feedback, I'd be interested and can also connect you to plenty of blind Android users. Set-up should be just fine if the app is either on the Play Store or an APK

absolutely - we've been working on high-visibility themes recently so we'd be very interested in hearing your feedback!

Cool. Well I'm a total so can't help you with high contrast. But can play with any of the audio stuff if you'd like. But also probably could find others with some vision to test those parts of the app.
Just message me a link or whatever works, and let me know if it's OK to share with others.
You could also join or post to the $1
It's a very busy group and it has its share of assholes but you could also get a lot of constructive feedback there as well.

Sure - here's the link to the app in the playstore:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=au.net.spin.gareth.herddit

at this stage you might need assistance from a sighted for initial set-up but after that hopefully it should be pretty simple to run.

the forum for feedback is /r/herddit - our dev is always available there and can make changes pretty quickly after they're suggested.

Cool just installed and will play with it probably later today. So far, I was able to get past the funny warning screen but then the main screen has a bunch of unlabeled buttons. If you turn on Talkback you'll see what I mean. Basically, you need to add text descriptions to the icons so we can know what each button does without just randomly clicking on all of them (I'm guessing they're just graphics now). Hope this makes sense.
There's also $1
I'll move this over to that Subreddit but fixing the buttons would be hugely helpful.

Any plans for iOS?

Depending on the popularity, we're definitely planning an IOS version some time in the future.
