Cheapest no-vision reading machine (self.Blind)
submitted 9y ago by acceptyourself
Hi, I was wondering if someone could offer me an answer to this question. What is the cheapest no-vision reading machine available? (Cheapest used would be even better). My grandfather of 100 years old is blind but still has a sharp mind and would really love to read again. I want to help him.

The machine wouldn't need any features except the ability to instantly read one page of text out loud. That means no hard drive, keypad, bookmarking, etc. needed.

I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions! Thank you very much!

Does he already have a computer? If so, there are audiobooks available, as well as text to speech software that can read any text.

If not, see if your library has audio books. Often they will either be on CD or possibly on a small player he can check out like a book.

Not quite what you wanted, but youtube has a bunch of full and free audiobooks. There's lots, but to start check out r/audiobooksonyoutube.
