I need a recommendation for a free screen reader. (self.Blind)
submitted 8y ago by [deleted]
I need it to be able to read webpages, simple ones. I am working on a web-based game and I want to test its accessibility to blind people. I'm willing to create a whole separate set of pages that remove as much visual information as possible in order to make it very usable with screen readers, but I don't have any to test with.

Try NVDA, if on Windows. If on the Mac, then voiceover is included, press cmd+f5. if on iOS, try going to settings>general>accessibility>voiceover.

Try NVDA, it's free and very customizeable with all kinds of features. Plus is has a portable version you can take with you anywhere you go.
