Data Visualizations with Visual impairments (self.Blind)

Hi everyone,
I'd like to start researching how people interact with data when they have visual impairments. The purpose for this is a subset of my greater vision: making data and insights easy, accessible, and actionable for all.
If anyone has any experience, please PM me. I'd like to chat informally and learn as much as possible.
Note: while I do work for Microsoft, my drive for this research is personal. I plan to share my research with people in my team (considering I work for a BI Platform), but if you're uncomfortable with that, please let me know up front!

Recently some accessibility buddies demoed http://describler.com/samples/
I don't remember if it was chrome or firefox they used, but it was interesting to learn how the data can be shown, told, acted with.
I played with the same sample pictures with my voiceover and ipad in the same meeting. The data it read was different, but more to the point.
Any links for me about learning quick about microsoft accessibility? I hear there's Narrator, but it'll probably take a while to get the hang of it...

I'd be interested in knowing what you come up with. I'm facing possible blindness sometime between now and when I retire (mid 30s now) and work with data as my primary job function.
