Research Paper Interview (self.Blind)
submitted 8y ago by GreatOneFreak
Hello /r/Blind Subs,

I am a computer engineering student from the University of Maryland doing a research paper on web design for the blind and visually impaired communities. I hope to learn more about browsing habits for said communities and how to improve site layouts for screen readers/text to speech.

I would be extremely helpful if I could do a short interview, with someone who has personal experience browsing the internet with something other than a conventional monitor.

If you are willing to help me out please send a PM or reply here and I will PM you. I can also provide proof of my identity over PM if you require.

Thanks.

How soon do you need it? I'm going to be super, super busy From May 3 to May 11. But if you haven't found anybody by then, I'm willing once my schedule clears a bit.

The project will be due before then, but I only have about five or so questions that should only require short answers. If you'd like I can pm them to you and you could decide if you have time to answer.

If you PM me the questions, I can write up some answers while I'm travelling, if that'd help. But no idea when I can commit to a phone or Skype conversation, unfortunately.

If you want to find more blind people than frequent reddit, you might also try the various mailing lists; program-l might have someone who can help you out: http://www.freelists.org/list/program-l
