As much as I dislike Huber as a company, they did make their app finally accessible via voice over on my iPhone, and every right I have had so far, the drivers are more than accommodating in assisting me to and from the car. I generally prefer to use sidecar as their app is initially more accessible and you have more of a choice. Lyft is currently on my shit list because I had a driver cancel on me specifically because I was blind and I got charged with a no-show fee, of course which I fought and got reinstated along with additional credit from the company itself. Their app could definitely be more accessible, however. Things definitely seem to be getting better amongst all three of the major companies, will have to try this new application though.

Hi. Just found this post by searching for Uber. I'm having trouble accessing te site with voice over text on iPhone. How do you set the location on the map? Voice over can detect street names on maps. Help?

I think the main gripe with Uber is that they allow drivers to refuse guide dogs. As someone who entirely loathes dogs, I can sympathize. But then, I'm not working as a cabby, freelance or otherwise.

AFAIK that would be highly illegal in the UK.

They argue that they're a ride sharing service, not a taxi service. All there employees are freelance contractors, using there own personal vehicles. So according to them, no taxi regulations apply. I'm not a lawyer, but that's how I understand it, anyway.
