I should also note that I found this by coming across a post on /r/engineering where /u/xkcd_transcriber, a bot responded to an xkcd comic that was linked. This bot is developed by /u/LunarMist2 and suggestions for the automated responses can be directed to /r/xkcd_transcriber.

It also has the slogan "It's 'cause you're dumb." I'm not one for political correctness, but until they recognize that there are other reasons to want transcripts than stupidity, I try and avoid linking them as much as possible. I link to $1 when they exist, instead.

Resurrecting this ancient post to note that XKCD itself has transcripts directly on the page, in a display:none div. $1 can fix that. No more hitting a different website for transcripts after visiting random XKCD links on Reddit. You'll need to have Stylish installed of course, but why don't you already have that? It's one of the most useful tools for blind/VI people on the web anyway, and is available for both Firefox and Chrome. So no excuse. LOL.

Thank you for posting this. :) The place I used to find transcriptions for XKCD hasn't been updated in a long time. I'm glad I'll be able to read these again.
