We are building a sensory input device that can extend your senses. Please help us in the process :-)(self.Blind)

Hi guys! Together with a group of CompSci and Engineering students I am trying to build a device that will encode environmental data into sensory input to extend senses for the blind. This possibilities are rather big - we can encode anything from navigational data to facial expressions of people in front of you. If you are blind, your input could be invaluable to us. If you know anyone blind it would really help us out if you could connect us. We would like to conduct a skype interview and/or a survey. The link to the survey is below. If you are down for a skype interview please message me :).

The survey only takes 3-4 minutes!
edit: changed the survey to public (without logging in)

You may also want to post to the eyes-free google group (blind and visually impaired users of Android).
That is a pretty active group of tech oriented users.

Hi guys, so far two people have taken the survey and it would be really really helpful if we could get a few more for more statistical significance. Please help us out, it only takes 3-4 minutes and we will publish all plans to rebuild the device open-source!
Thanks : - )

Done. I may have given a slightly too detailed answer in the box at the end. :)
/r/servicedogs might be another good place to post your survey, as will as /r/disability

Thank you so much. The more detail the better.

The survey asks for google login... Can you make a version where it doesn't do that? I don't remember my login, and don't want to make a new one.
An app recognizing people and their facial expressions would be awesome. As would apps for indoor directions.

Thanks for telling me! I changed it. It would help out out a lot if you could take it :)
