I noticed you mentioned getting something that can tell time. I use an adapted watch and I love it. I would not recommend a talking watch though. They seem nice in theory but in practice they are insanely annoying and I stopped using it pretty fast.

If you want to find other things to help her to be independent, things like adapted kitchenware are nice, I recently got some adapted kitchen stuff and it is great. You could also look into a mobility GPS like the Humanware Trekker Breeze Plus.
