Unfortunate response to pointing out that public signage should be clearly legible (self.Blind)
submitted by SquiffSquiff
So I have been surprised at the negative response to some comments I made over on $1 at /r/london pointing out that public signs should be clearly legible. Although I have some knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act (this is in the UK) I am not blind or partially sighted myself. I would be interested in the thoughts of redditors who are with regard to this sign and discussion.

I commented on the thread. :/ This is what discrimination is much of the time for those who can't see well: not people trying to be dicks, but simply failing to consider those with varying ability to see.

Most of those commenters will get old and their eyesight will decline and they'll understand.

You're right but by then of course it will probably be too late for them to have done anything to help the situation

Indeed. But I can't help but think it will be their fate. Karma.

I wish I could say that I was more surprised. It's really disappointing
