Web builders that allow you to make accessible sites? (self.Blind)
submitted by syncopest
I'm hoping for help finding a web site builder that doesn't restrict you so that you have no chance of making an accessible site. The organization I volunteer with had been using this site building tool called "WIX" but Wix is pretty clear about not working with screen readers or TTS programs. We have a minuscule budget and the site building tools need to be useable by people who don't have a ton of technical skills. Can anyone recommend a good product? Thanks!

I use Wordpress myself and I love it! I have an accessibility ready theme that makes it very friendly to screen reader users. You can set up a self hosted Wordpress site for as little as four bucks a month. Well worth it!

wordpress.com or wordpress.org. wordpress.org is better!

But Weebly is OK. :)
This nonprofit website is run by volunteers.
Please contribute if you can. Thank you!
