I have CBI with light sensitivity. I have found that welding sunglasses are the best for light sensitivity.

I have LCA which is a lot like RP (misdiagnosed for years), and I have some crazy light sensitivity issues. Currently I use a pair or Rayban Aviators in my prescription using the Rayban G15 dark green tint which works super well for me. I'm also looking to pick up a pair of Rayban Wayfarers probably in the G15 tint since it works well now and skip the prescription because it's not that useful for mobility either way and I just need light protection. If you do want prescription lenses I would advise against the Aviators. I love them, and they have a definite cool factor but if you have a prescription that makes your lenses insanely thick like me then the thin frames don't retain the lenses super well and having a lens pop on me is a pretty regular occurrence that requires a trip to my optical shop. In addition the heavier lenses make them front heavy so they don't always stay on my face as well as I'd like them too. I'm still keeping them and I use them all the time but I'd like something more convenient hence the Wayfarers. I have two other pairs of "sunglasses" but they are just yellow and red tinted glasses in my prescription. I don't really like the different color tints and prefer to get things as dark as possible because the sun can really bother my eyes.

> Rayban G15 dark green tint
Thanks for the info, I will look in to these.

Yep, no problem... I think it's a standard tint for them so you should be able to get it in any style you want that Rayban makes.

I have RP. At first I had blue tinted glasses to brighten up dim areas, but I eventually became so light sensitive that I went with an orange tint. For me, if the tint is too dark, it's no good, so I wound up working with the eye doctor to get the tint just right.

Have you tried grey, is it any good?

When I was younger I had a pair of amber sunglasses, don't rember if they were prescription or not but they worked so well.

I haven't tried grey as a tint. I have tried blue, orange, and red. From what I've read, reddish tints are supposed to be better for RP somehow. While it's not as universal for fashion and stuff, I'd rather have no eye pain from light sensitivity than have my glasses match my pants or whatever, so it doesn't bug me. It's one of those things that I would suggest doing as many trials of different clip-on tints or those sample tints as possible.

Are your glasses polarized?

I think so, but it's been a long time and I'm due for a new pair but none of the glasses places near me take medicaid.
