What language do they speak? Most screen-reading technologies work in many major languages these days. Most European languages, and the majority of Asian languages at least.

What about audiobooks in their language, would they be available? My boyfriend is low vision and audiobooks, podcasts, are wonderful for him.

If he's able to use a magnifier - it'd make reading books, magazines, maps and other things easier. It might be a waste of time for him though.
There are cool things like large fonted (is that a word?) playing cards. So he can whip them out and play blackjack!
