Sense of smell? (self.Blind)
submitted by sequinsedgown
I've always had an unusually strong sense of smell, so maybe that's it. But over the years, I've come to realize that I rely on sense of smell a lot more than I once thought. I remember one time I was really sick and completely lost all sense of smell, and I actually felt more lost than I do without my glasses. Can anyone else relate? Or do you think it has something to do with me being used to visual impairment, but not being used to olfactory impairment?

Sense of smell is generally so underrated.
But it can be a very useful sense for identifying anything (and appreciating the beautiful scents as beauty).
I don't remember any time when my sense of smell would have been really bad. Not even with colds - those seem to weirdly just interfere with taste. (Then aain it's been years since any bad cold, and then I wouldn't have needed all the sensory compensation so much).
Nose seems to work so much better when you spend enough time outdoors (walk, run, anything else). Indoors there is just so much less to notice.

Ear issues feel so more disorienting. Ear infections on one side...
When you can't pinooint where sounds come from.
