[question] regarding audio described movies (self.Blind)
submitted by BARDLover
Hello, all.

I recently found out my girlfriend has never seen The Godfather, and would like to show it to her. Blind Mice Megamall has it audio described, but as you may know the Movie Vault only gives you an .MP3, so no visuals.

Does anyone know a way to both have the audio and video of the movie, aside from hitting play on the DVD and the .MP3 at the same time?

Thanks.

What country are you in? The Ottawa Public Library will send out audio described DVDs, and will note if DVDs in there mainstream collection have audio description or not. They also carry a large selection of commercial audio books. Oddly for a blind person, I find the public library is where I get a lot of the media I consume these days. So don't count your local library out just because you can't read print or see pictures!

I'll have to look in to my local library in Seattle. Thanks for the tip.
