Is this insensitive? (self.Blind)
submitted by hobojen
I am working on a children's story that contains a mini story for each letter in the alphabet. I want to convey positive qualities and teach lessons on acceptance and good manners, and I am not sure if the first line in this particular story is insensitive.

Big brave B was blind as a bat.
But he still knew where everything was at.
Because he was brave and because he tried,
His list of accomplishments was a mile wide.

Here is another example to give you an understanding of the types of stories:

Creative C crafted works of art
With crayons and paints and all of her heart
She chose colors that were cheery just like her day
And colored and painted in her own special way.

I appreciate your input.

No, the word blind is not offensive. I posted a rant about that to this sub 6 or 7 months back, although I can't find it at the moment. I find how terrible Reddit search is to be more offensive than that phrase. LOL

I'm visually impaired and don't find that offensive.

Neat idea for a children's book!

Would not offend anyone. You are perfect! :)

I like it.
That bat knows where everything is and how to get stuff done.

I don't find it offensive. Nice story concept.
