A few questions for blind users who use Android. (self.Blind)
submitted by Nighthawk321
I've always used iPhone, obviously because Voiceover has been the superior mobile screen reader since the beginning of time. However, I've recently installed Shineplus on my friends Galaxy Note 2 and it seems to be much more promising than Talkback. Has anyone used Shineplus? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Do you have any cool gestures I may not know about? I find the manual to be a bit vague. For example, I can't figure out how to read by words, character, etc. The reason why I'm asking all of these questions is because when the iPhone 7 comes out, I may switch over to Android, because there's no way I'm going to deal with a smaller headphone jack. The phone itself is already way too thin haha. Thank you for your help.

Personally, I'm just going to hang on to my current IPhone until it stops getting OS updates. That should be another 4 years I hope, and then I'll see where Android is then. As with you, I refuse to buy a phone without a built-in headphone jack. I don't care if it has an adapter, and I don't care the reasons for removing it. If it doesn't have one, I'm not buying.

Yeah, exactly, I'm sure as hell not going to use a headphone adapter. I already hated doing then for the brief time I had my Lifeproof case.

Why don't you just go for an iPhone SE? That's what I'm going to do. I much prefer the body type of the fiveS over the 6 design, and then you would still at least be using a screen reader vastly superior to anything android developers can come out with.

Because I like the six design more than the five's design. Plus, I'm willing to give a Android a chance, because I like the GUI more than IOS.
