Is anyone going to be watching Goalball at the Rio games? (self.Blind)
submitted by KillerLag
I was wondering if anyone was planning on watching goalball at the Paralympic games in Rio, and what you use to watch it.

It looks like the Canadian ami is streaming it, although how regularly I don't know

Luckily, I have access to AMI (and I do live in Canada :D ). I know a few of the people on the Canadian team and want to keep updated.

Jsevrior 1 points 6y ago
Likewise, though I'm no longer in Canada. I think Jennie is posting links to the real-time streaming on her Facebook, if you're connected with her
KillerLag [OP] 1 points 6y ago
Don't think I know Jennie, but Whitney posts pics pretty fast. I'll see if I can get work to stream it to a conference room and let IT figure it out.
Jsevrior 1 points 6y ago
She's Halifax.

Good luck. I'm told only a portion of them are actually being recorded at all. Only managed to just catch Brazil versus Sweden

Is AMI going to be streaming online? I can't justify spending the money on cable just for AMI; I get all the other described TV I need from Netflix. If not, I won't be watching any of it.
Unuhi 2 points 6y ago
Yes, their content should be available without cable.

I live in US and as NBC soors thst did the regular olympics don't seem to cover hte paralympics, I'll use ami.ca.

No idea, need to do some investigation.

How do you turn on DVS for Netflix? I haven't seen that option yet
fastfinge 1 points 6y ago
Depends what platform you're on. It's in the menu that allows you to select subtitles and audio language. If you're on Apple TV, it respects the system wide DVS setting. All original Netflix programs have DVS. And Netflix has agreed to require companies who produce DVS for there content to provide that DVS to Netflix. So most Disney movies, for example, also have DVS. Unfortunately, if the DVS was produced by a third party like AMI, they do not provide that DVS to Netflix; so there are still a few shows that had DVS on TV, but have none on Netflix or DVD.

Also, the new CBC on demand website provides DVS audio for programs where it was aired with DVS, like Dragon's Den, Murdoch Mysteries, etc. The TVO on demand website does the same thing. And all TV stations in Canada also broadcast DVS over the air. So AMI is really the only DVS I can't access at all. I find that really ironic!

[Here's a guide.]
(http://www.acb.org/adp/netflix.html) DVS is only available on a small selection of their overall library, but it is expanded regularly.

Not goalball, but likely Juno a friend of mine is competing. And dressage because well I love it. And just regular tv.
KillerLag [OP] 1 points 6y ago
Is Juno and Dressage an app, or something else?
charliemyheart 1 points 6y ago

Dressage is a horse sport.

And juno is martal arts. Anything else use google
KillerLag [OP] 3 points 6y ago
Judo is the martial art. Autocorrect might be changing the spelling for you.
