What Described Video Service (DVS) do You Use? (self.Blind)
submitted by kwizrr
One thing I've learned from browsing the Internet, there are so many good people out there who want to help. And they want nothing in return.

I'm curious what DVS (Described Video Service) do people use?

I myself was using Sero, but I can no longer afford it.

I now primarily use Blindy.tv and and TheListenFactor.com for listening to audio described movies and TV shows. They are free and work just like channels on your TV, but just on the web.

Due to Sero I've become a fan of popular TV shows like Game of Throwns and Homeland. I'm hoping there is an online service available that releases audio described content for recent TV show episodes quickly, which I can listen to on demand.

Any suggestions?

I use blind mice. If you make an account, it gives you access to thousands and thousands of described TV shows and movies, for free! Once you create an account, just go to the bottom of the page and look for the link that says movie vault.

WOW! Never knew such a site existed for DV content. Thanks for sharing this gem.

Love Blind Mice, I download a ton of their stuff! Unfortunately, downloading TV series is a bit more of a pain in the butt. Some seasons would take 4-5 hours to download, and I've had them fail after 3 hours >.<

I use Netflix; all the original programming there gets DVS. I also put up a TV antenna, and most TV broadcasts in canada are described. I also have zagga.tv, though they don't have a huge content offering yet. I don't watch TV exclusively by myself, so I also need the picture for sighted friends.
