Just bought a playstation VR headset for my visually impaired nephew, anyone here with sight issues tried modern VR? (self.Blind)

My nephew has real poor vision and can only really see things close up. He's had it all his life and his fiancé is now nearly totally blind afaik. A while ago I showed him virtual reality on the Oculus DK2 and he really liked it.

As he is unemployed but does have a ps4 I got the family to throw money in for the extra £450 for the headset, camera and move controllers. He loved flying games so looking forward to him trying out those in VR.

One of the games plays heavily on a music theme where you literally punch the rhythm beats as they fly at your face blue for left hand and red for right. I was hoping he might be able to play that with his fiancé too as the screen is so close to your face and the colours so vivid.

Anyone here with very short sight impairment that have any experiences with any recent virtual reality headsets?

I'm curious if he has tried the VR headset and how it has worked out? I'm very interested in this technology.

I will get him to do a full review when he gets it, I'm sure it could benefit this community. Imagine a full cinema screen just inches away from your face? Normally people who could not view at that distance in real life might be able to see it virtually with these headsets where the lens only makes it seem far away!
