Sigh. I hate to be that guy, but blind people need better games than silly arcade games. I could go on and on, but I don't want this to be a rant.

Arcade games can be developed by a team of 1 or 2 people, for almost no money. Same with MUDs and text adventures. So that's all we're ever going to get, unless we can legally force mainstream companies to include access features. Because it's folks like EA and Nintendo who have all the money. I've seen sales stats on some accessible games. Making $5000 to $8000 over the lifetime of a game would be considered a huge success. Compare that to the 18 million dollars per month valve makes on most games, or the 18 million dollars league of legends makes every five days.

Much more complex games can be developed with one or two people than just arcade games. For example, sidescrollers are completely over developed on PC, but a sidescroller on IOS and Android would be both interesting and something that hasn't been done.

A sidescroller on a touchscreen would be kind of crap though, wouldn't it?

Not at all. Mario just came out on IOS. Man what I would do to play that again.
