Do you like "lowercase" music? (self.Blind)
submitted by CleverestPony70
I heard there was a type of weird new post-post-future music called lowercase. Do you, the person reading/hearing this, like lowercase? If you've never heard a lowercase track, tell me and I'll google it and post a few here.

So lowercase is basically a whole lot of nothing with some random noises inbetween?
That's way past 43rd layer of irony.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowercase_(music)

"Originally coined by minimal artist Steve Roden, lowercase is an extreme form of ambient minimalism where very quiet, usually unheard, sounds are amplified to extreme levels. (It is a common misconception that lowercase music primarily consists of lengthy silences.)"

Definitely not standard music

Could you, in addition to examples, first describe what, to you at least, are the defining characteristics of this genre?

I'm not very good at explaining music. I kinda think it sounds like crap.

Never heard of it. But if it's futurist, I won't like it. I don't like minimalist electronica or glitchpop much, either. I want lyrics and a melody, please!

If you're looking for help developing a character for you writing you might have better luck on a writing sub :)

I think he/she's over that. Just seems to be hanging out and starting discussions, these days. I'm OK with this. Off-topic discussions never hurt anyone, other than maybe the poster who has to sacrifice some karma.
