Hi,
This is a request for blind and partially sighted participants who might be willing to fill in a questionnaire about their experiences.
We are a group of Master’s students studying Human-computer interaction at the University College London. We are currently working on a project to create or improve a interaction design for visually impaired/blind people, where an interaction design is any interaction involves technology and an individual.
This is project is not just a part of our master’s programme, we also aim to enter the CHI (The ACM conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems) student design competition. CHI is an academic conferences that is generally considered to be the most prestigious in the field of computer sciences and the interaction between human and computers.
The competition aside, we genuinely want to design something that would be beneficial to people who are visually impaired. This questionnaire is aimed to be a preliminary exploration of the difficulties people might experience.
We want to get this right and design something for the users, therefore with the results from the preliminary questionnaire, we will then decide on an area of focus and create a interaction design for our target user through conducting interviews/more questionnaires.
Here is an link to CHI 2017’s website https://chi2017.acm.org.
And here is a link to a survey monkey questionnaire. We would be extremely grateful if you had the time to fill it out.
