So some seasonal decorations.
And ideally, get it clean, lean, minimum amount of stuff everywhere one day.

My wife and I, who are both blind, decorate our home for the same reasons you do. Our pictures, figuring’s, etc. say things about who we are and what we care about; our wedding, previous jobs, friends and family are things we want to remember, and having pictures up helps us do that. Also they display important aspects of our lives to visitors. We are Eastern Orthodox Christians, so we have lots of icons around the house, which have religious importance. Also, flowers, vases, fruit displays, etc. make our house feel more like a home. We are putting up our Christmas tree on Saturday.

A lot of people had vision before losing it, so they often decorated it beforehand. I knew some person who lost their vision later in life, but was very into art. She had a number of paintings hung up that were done by the Group of Seven.
