Tommy (Edison) Almost Died! -- His stories. (youtube.com)

I mean, I hate that he's constantly running into things, but it does make me feel a little better about the fact that I'm always pinging off of door frames.

My most severe vision-related injury happened when I was a kid. I walked out onto a deck my dad was building on our new house. I'd been told not to because it didn't yet have the hand rail on it, but you know, I thought I was an invincible kid. I went to step over a stack of lumber, misjudged the distance thanks to having no depth perception, ended up falling off the deck and face-planting the concrete driveway 4ft below. I knocked out four teeth and my face was pretty messed up for a while.

It is a good thing you were a child to regrow your teeth and reheal fast. No broken bones?
WindupBot 2 points 6y ago
Yeah, really. Fortunately, no broken bones. I'm not sure how I managed to not break my nose.

Ha, I broke my nose a school bus accident due to lack of seat belts in the front seat when hitting its the handle bar. :(

What about YOUR stories who are blind? ;)
Unuhi 1 points 6y ago
Most of the nearly killed myself accidentally stories are unfortunately from when I identified as a sighted person.
Fall while running, break a wrist and get a black eye. Or get mugged and get a cranial fracture. Or fall while on a bike and end up in a hospital, things like those. Nothing like those since I started to identify as a properly visually impaired person.
