This is awesome, thank you for sharing!

My son won't be able to drive due to a visual impairment, so I've set a goal in my mind to save money for a driverless car for him by highschool.

Happy to share.

Ever since I heard a blind person's complaints about Uber pulling out of Austin, Texas I've been thinking about self driving cars for the blind. Even if a person doesn't want to buy a Tesla, they may one day be able to using the self driving network for a reasonable.

At a certain point in the development of this technology, the problem stops being how accurate and sophisticated the technology powering the vehicle is, and is more the lack of ability of human drivers to reliably control their vehicles safely and consistently. If I had my wish, no humans would be in charge of a vehicle capable of traveling more than 20 miles an hour.

I agree. I never felt like people should be trusted in mass to weird multi-ton hunks of metal traveling at high velocities. I can still drive. But I have never been entirely comfortable with it.
