Absolutely. There are couple of reasons for this. First, if the survey gets too long, people tend not to want to take it. Second, we wanted to get a preliminary look at what is happening in general with this first survey.
Based on your comment and a few similar ones from other respondents, we are now planning to follow this up with another study that asks more specific questions about availability of fitness/exercise resources and how it impacts people's decision making. For example, I'm a sighted person, and my primary modes of fitness are judo, brazilian jiu jitsu and weight lifting. I drive about 15 minutes to get to a location where I can do all three. If my gym were to close, I'd be upset, sure, but recovery would be as simple as finding another gym with similar offerings.
You make a very interesting point that if your current mode of physical activity fails you, it would likely be much more impactful. This is very interesting, and quite possibly something that is more common for persons with VI than the population at large. So, in the future we hope to find out a bit more.
I guess what I'm saying is thank you for helping us focus our research for the future!
