It would be interesting to see what the third generation is like compared to the previous generations. The earlier versions did their job quite well, but it was quite a bit clunkier. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't understand how it worked and thought it would correct their vision (it doesn't). It essentially works as a very portable CCTV that you can wear.

Unrelated rant, but OMG I hate CNET! Can we stop with the unrelated autoplaying videos please? Good grief!

... how much for a silver eye brick?

It's hard to find on their website but this new version is $9,900, the older version was $15,00

I'm kind of interested but kind of not. It's a huge amount to spend on a silver brick that might give me good ish sight but everyone acts like it will solve all my problems instantly where it's more likely to be kind of ok but take a lot of getting used to and due to battery power it isn't likely to last all day. It won't cure my dyslexia or dyscalculia so I can't get that seven days a week twelve hours a day office job everyone seems to want me to do.
For those it works for well great but for others it's a gamble we probably still can't afford.

If you're going to CSUN this year they will be doing a demo there
