I applied to a job that had a driving requirement. I appealed and asked for theoretical ADA accommodations in the hiring process and have been granted a meeting to discuss them! Any advice on how to prepare for this meeting? (self.Blind)

This is the first time this has happened. I am so nervous. I don't believe this is an an official interview and I don't know what it means for my probability of being the chosen candidate but I am so excited they are willing to discuss the fact that my vision does limit one aspect of the job.

I'm super nervous though the more I think about it. I present as fully sighted. I think I will get a letter from my VRC ahead of time documenting my inability to drive and visual impairment.

I don't know what accommodation to ask for in lieu of driving. My role as driver would be to transport senior citizens. Obviously I can't do that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to present a solid argument ((beyond I'm qualified for this job for various reasons) to why Driving shouldn't be expected and a counter proposal to what the accommodations should be?

Good luck for the interview!

As what to say... that is quite tricky is driving is an integral part of the position. But if it isn't (maybe the driving is only once a week or something), maybe a coworker can do it and you can offer to take part of their responsibility.
