Hypothetically speaking! How blind people would feel if there was a chance to get back partial vision or even pixelated/ blurry vision. Would u prefer to stay tottaly blind or would u have some kind of treatment which would allow u to partially see? I really would like the views of every individual that can answer. Thank you guys.

If there weren't a lot of risk I'd try it. That said I have been blind essentially from birth so even if my eyes started working now I could never have good vision because the brain needs to adapt to it as one grows.

I like that I see a few "what's the risk?" comments. It's an interesting insight into my values that I'd be asking "what's the cost?"

Could I learn to drive? If so, yes, I'd do whatever, assuming I could afford it. Otherwise, no. I was born blind. The ability to travel easily is the only thing I miss.

If there was color and contrast and the acuity was above 20/800 (enough to read large print or magnified text on the screen) I'd be all for it.

My vision is already like this, and it would make my life easier if I went totally blind

I only lost my sight 3 years ago but same. Plus, the constant blur gives me constant headaches.
But then I feel bad for thinking that. Im sure people who are completely blind would be very grateful to get any sort of vision back.

I would not I am happy with the way that I am. I was cited and now that I am almost completely blind I like myself this way and the way I now perceive the world

Thank you for asking. I have always been legally blind, with vision getting worse over time, but I have had a decent amount to work with--enough to say, walk around a building with my eyes rather than my ears and a cane, but not enough to read menus or door signs. As it gets worse, I cannot imagine getting any type of procedure done that /might/ restore what has deteriorated. I think my situation might be bias, having never had any form of surgery before. I know many who have had eye surgeries at a very young age have a different perspective on the physical alterations. Not only does it make me feel uncomfortable, but I also have spent so much of my life learning to be who I am that it would be emotionally draining--if not harmful--to try to reset and start living life in a brand new way again.

I'm in a position of my eye sight is terrible and will only get worse (fact). I'm open to try most things as if I try nothing I'll loose pretty much all sight. If the op goes wrong - I woulda lost that vision sooner or latter anyway.
