Let's players that read text? (self.Blind)
submitted by rkingett
I know there is the great channel games for Everybody, a channel that provides audio description for video games, but I am looking for more channels that read dialogue and things and menus and stuff in their let's plays.

Does anyone know of a good Final Fantasy X playlist where text is read on screen as well and otherwise? The more suggestions, the better.

Sorry :'( I don't know of any good FFX playlist, but a channel I think is considerate of those things is GeekRemix. They have specifically said they try to read everything out because they know some of their viewers have a hard time reading everything out.

NicoB reads out all dialouge and notes I think, not sure about menus. Presshearttocontinue also reads out all dialouge. Both do unique voices for all the characters too haha.

Thanks! I will check them out!

Sure thing! I don't know what your tastes in games are, but typically LPers I watch read out everything in visual novels. If they like to ad-lib though it *sometimes* gets hard to tell when they're libbing or reading.

I watched the first episodes of an FFX playlist that might suit you $1. He doesn't talk over voiced dialogue, reads most unvoiced text, tutorial stuff, and pop-ups (except for items he finds and dialogue in Al Bhed since it is untranslated until you gather specific items), and seems to talk about menu stuff when new functions are introduced or if he's doing something that's not just attack attack attack.

One I watched all through before and liked was from Two Best Friends Play, but they totally don't get how to play and chat over everything, which is probably why they don't really get the story either haha. So yeah, I don't recommend that one.

I subscribed to him and tried a few and really do like his work. If you know of a totally blind person looking for a audio description lets play channel try games for everybody.

You can also try sirlionhart. I don't know if he has played FFX, but he plays a lot of JRPG's. I don't think he reads out menus though, and he does not specifically make a point of reading things for blind people, he just happens to read a lot of stuff. Usually all the dialogue.

Whenever I get stuck in a game I use his let's plays as a walkthrough for the section I am struggling with simply because he is quite descriptive of what he is doing and what he sees.

Not Final Fantasy X, but Boatmurdered is a text-only let's play of Dwarf Fortress which is pretty funny. There's a youtube series that's like an audiobook too, but I've not listened to it to comment on the quality.

Also $1 is a really good way to kill a day or two.
