one-eyed folks: how do you focus your vision on your good eye? (self.Blind)
submitted by losingfocus2017
Hi,

My right vision has declined to about 10% while my left vision is pretty good at about 80%. I find myself "squinting" or holding my right eye closed almost involuntarily, which I feel is maybe creating some eyestrain in my left eye. I was wondering if anyone else here is in a similar situation and what do you do so you can focus your vision on your good eye and not be distracted by the blurry vision in your bad eye? I was considering wearing an eye patch and seeing if that would help..

Sometimes I close the bad eye (wink), but often it just seems like it is so blurry my brain just disregards it.

Ditto. Funnily enough, like the OP, my right eye is my dud and my left eye is my "good" (i.e. better) one. I've thought about wearing an eye patch because that'd look pretty cool, but even though my right is totally shot it still alerts me to large blurry things that (sometimes) keeps me from putting that side of my body into objects.
