Seeking survey participants who have visual impairments for a museum app (self.Blind)
submitted by hi_alpha
I hope this is okay to post here. I'm part of a team at NYU that is designing accessibility solutions for the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York. Our goal is to give create access to information about objects in an exhibit because the museum currently offers no audio tours. Our concept is a mobile app that allows a visitor to point their mobile phone’s camera at an object in the exhibition (like TapTapSee). When the object is detected it will alert the user that there is an audio description of the object available. The app's functionality will be limited to exhibition areas (using beacons, WiFi or other system).

We really want feedback about visiting museums from people who are blind or have a visual impairment. Would you please help us by taking our 10 question survey?
