Any TTS tools for reading articles/documents in MacOS? (self.Blind)
submitted by kennethbrodersen
Hi.
I switched to the mac as my primary machine a few months ago. The integrated voices sounds decent so I actually started using text to speech functionality. I don't want to use voice over however but exclusively want to use TTS for reading articles on webpages and documents (pdf and word primarily).

I can select any text and hit opt+esc to read the text aloud but I would like a little more "control" and features if possible. Like the ability to highlight words and sentences while these are read aloud.

Do any of you know of such a solution?

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend

Don't know about highlighting words, but this does pretty much everything else: http://marinersoftware.com/products/narrator/
