Hi /r/blind,

My name is Avo and I am here to ask if you could help with a survey for a paper me and my group are writing. We have a few questions and would love to hear your answers. It's a short 5 question survey though google forms. Any help is greatly appreciated!

There's not an option for both class with people with an impairment and without. I went to a school for the blind, but transfered out.

I have competed your survey, a few of points of feedback:

1. Question two probably should have an additional option for those that attended mainstream school, had access to certain supports (e.g. extra reading time in exams etc, which I would consider "accommodating"), but chose not to utilise them. There is a distinct difference between not being accommodated and having the option to be accommodated but not taking it (which I consider separate to your second option because being accommodated sounds like you actively too advantage of those supports).

2. Question four and its associated responses don't quite follow on from each other. The responses are primarily geared toward "I do/don't like group work", but one response is angled at "I like group with others with sensory disability (i.e. like me)". The issue of liking/not liking group work is separate to the issue of liking/not liking working with others with sensory disability.

3. Question 5 is difficult because it is unclear what information you are looking for. "Describe the experience" is very broad. I think what you're looking for is for people to describe their experience from the perspective of how sensory disability impacted/was accommodated/elicited particular reactions from peers/colleagues. You probably should include a short example of the sorts of things you're looking for.

Good luck with your paper.

Question two doesn't have an option for those who lost sight after high school.
