Developing a suite of Audiogames for my Bachelor Degree (self.Blind)
submitted by icywindflashed
Hi! I'm a Computer Science student from Italy. I developed a suite of audiogames completely accessible to blind users, running on Android. I was looking for totally or partially visual impaired players to test it. The testing includes simply playing the games and answering a couple of questions.

If anyone wants to help me out by trying it out himself or a blind acquaintance let me know! Thank you!

Something I should mention... most totally blind individuals use iPhones, rather than Android, because iPhones have better accessibility. Even among low vision users, I find most people use iPhones still because the accessibility is much better.

Not everyone can afford an Iphone though. I think it's good that Android is getting some love instead of everything being Iphone focused.

Here in Europe Apple doesn't have the same huge market share as it does in the US.

Personally I use a Windows phone as it has a great UI and the voice recognition in Cortana is fantastic, it has no problems recognising commands in my strong Geordie accent - Siri isn't very good at accents. lol

Yeah I'm aware of that, unfortunately that's something I found out after developing the app! Portability to iOS is one of the things I would like to do in the future :)

While I use a Windows phone, I do also use an Android tablet.

I'd be willing to give it a try.

Hey, not blind myself but my dad had some form of termporary blindness, (although as of right now he's in a coma the doctors can't explain) and have a second cousin who's been blind since birth. Also wouldn't mind trying myself. As I said, I'm not blind, but I've experimented for a good few hundred hours of trying as best as I can to simulate blindness.

Hey man, sorry to hear about your dad, hope things get better soon.

I'll send you the app in private, every feedback is welcome! Obviously for the sake of the thesis feedback from the visually impaired holds more value but I'd love to hear as much as I can!
