Does anyone here have Panuveitis? (self.Blind)
submitted by Biolates
I have it myself, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has it here.

Yes. Specifically, Multifocal Choroiditis with Panuveitis.

Sorry for the late reply. I've got Panuveitis Bilateral myself. I don't want to come across wrong but it makes me feel happier to know someone else understands what I go through.

Just wanted to hear what helps with your case, I use sunglasses nearly 24/7 which helps with the light.

I have developed cataracts so I find myself needing light as much as I hate the light. It is a constant battle for me but the flashlight and magnifier in my iPhone are 2 of my best friends.

Are you blind? I have no central vision in my left eye and at this point am not receiving any treatment for it. My right eye is the current battleground for me. I am at risk of losing my central vision in my right eye which would render me legally blind. I receive injections of Avastin in my right eye, have had Ozurdex implants every 3-6 months and am currently on 3 different immunosuppressant drugs trying to maintain vision as long as possible.

I subscribed here as I am acutely aware that the odds are I will be blind in my lifetime. I am trying to stay on top of current technology available to the blind so that I am prepared for that eventually as much as possible. It is challenging at times to fight like hell to maintain vision while simultaneously preparing for it's loss.

That's sounds terrible, I'm so sorry. I too am blind in my left eye and they've stopped treatment for it, I've got a "lens early PSC" which I found is a early cataract in my 'good eye' (right eye). Though I can see out of my right eye, it's a trouble with the floaters and blurs. I'm currently on a small dosage of steroids, cellcept and some others. Just got off of humira injections, sadly did nothing for me.

I've been told I need to learn Braille now, and start trying to do stuff without the help of my eyes, because I'm very likely going to go blind. They're planning to do one more year of cellcept before they give up.

As with light, going outside in the day is hard with my glasses, going outside at night is even worse. The light is just too much at night. I've found myself progressively zooming in to words. I find words on paper are too hard to read now, they jumble all together.

I find my iPad helps since I can control the light and zoom in. It's the only thing nower days I can read.

Do you mind if I ask how old you are? I am 41 and it has been suggested by multiple people that there is no point in my learning Braille. Due to my age and technology available it seems like I would better adapt to screen readers etc.
