I'm looking for an accessible application to teach Dvorak keyboard layout. (self.Blind)
submitted by bmmcginty
TLDR: Self-voicing or screenreader-voicing software to teach Dvorak typing method?
I've heard quite a bit about the Dvorak typing layout. My wife has started working on learning this, and I'd love to join her.
About 12? years back, I used a program called Talking Typing Teacher to increase my typing speed. It was a bit juvenile (at least to my teenage mind), but it got the job done splendidly. Sadly, I'm not having any luck finding accessible software to teach Dvorak the same way.
There's Type Faster,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/typefaster/
but it's from 2004, and the voicing won't work now. I'm also not sure if the accessible mode supports Dvorak.
I can braille label a keyboard if need be, but but that's unlikely to produce the results and speed I'm going to require to use Dvorak in my day to day work.
If anyone can provide suggestions, they'd be more than welcome.
Thanks.

If you find anything, let me know! I tried to make the switch, but gave up for a similar reason. There's just no easy way to learn it.
