Any Blind YouTubers? (self.Blind)
submitted by lifebeyonddarkness9
Hi everyone,
I am fairly new to Reddit and was looking for something of this nature, a blind discussion reddit page. To give a quick introduction about myself, I was blind since birth. The cause is still unknown, but the condition I have is called Lebers for short, which is considered a mitochondrial disease where my optic nerve is lacking a number of mitochondria cells. With that said, I thought I would talk just a little bit about myself in a short, simplest form possible, and I'm not even sure if it's okay to do so here anyways, but here it is. I am a tech nerd, primarily invested into Apple ecosystem like iPhones, Macs, Apple Watches etc. However, I've been a Windows user ever sense too, so any tech question is welcome strait to my inbox. I also love books, from Harry Potter to novels. I am also a writer so places like Reddit would well fit me. I am currently a high schooler, which I'll be graduating next year from the time of this post. I like other things like music, etc, but enough of rambling I will get to what I was gonna say. So, I had a YouTube channels prior to where I am currently at. I saw that many of the blind or visually impaired community is familiar with the channel that me and couple other blind friends of mine put together. ApexAndApple was a journey to be introduced to the YouTube space, and how we can spread our word out about blind people, technology, etc. It turns out that the channel didn't expand as well as I was wanting to, and because there were several other conflicts, we ended up renaming by aiming at a broader topic. That's where we headed to Blind Insider, which in a year becomes a failure, and partly was my fault for leaving the team. I once had a channel again for another attempt with one other friend called Blind Vloggers. That didn't go so well, so I was thinking how I could become a successful YouTuber. The only way I soon found out was to start all of this on my own, without reliance on anyone else, but myself. I am able to tackle iMovie on the Mac, which allows me to edit and produce decent quality videos, which is why it motivated me to get a Mac at least once in my lifetime, which sure happened by this point. Ok, with that out of the way, I thought I would go ahead and start a channel, called Life Beyond Darkness, which I am definitely planning on the wide range of topics, such as mobility, guide dogs, mainstream and assistive technologies, lifestyle and vlogs. I will leave the link at the end of the post so you can check it out for yourself. Any bit helps so you are more than welcome to subscribe. Like the title insist, is there anyone with a YouTube channel as a blind person? If so, let me know. I would love to take a look :)

Blind film critic and the Tommy Edison experience are the same guy, I enjoy his stuff. Lots of dad humour.

Molly burke! Molly burke is one of my favorite youtubers period. She's blind (light perception and shaddows only) from retinitis pigmentosa. She vlogs about any thing from her cute guide dog to her love of makeup. She's so great

Here is a link to my good friend Paul's YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/user/BlindSkierDude/featured

Sadly Paul passed away two years ago. I am pretty sure he did all the work on the page himself.
