We have been working with visually impaired people in the Netherlands for the past 6 months to understand how artificial intelligence can be of meaningful value. We concluded with them that the correct approach would be to have a context-aware AI that correctly anticipates the information needed instead of doing pure object recognition. So if you look at the bus, it shouldn't say "it's a bus" but tell you the number and destination of the bus. We have incorporated those learning in the form of a beta app that we now want people to try. The idea of this app is to understand how can such a service be improved and modified to be more meaningful.
