Envision – a context-based approach to artificial intelligence for visually impaired. (self.Blind)
submitted by mahakart
Hi,

We have been working with visually impaired people in the Netherlands for the past 6 months to understand how artificial intelligence can be of meaningful value. We concluded with them that the correct approach would be to have a context-aware AI that correctly anticipates the information needed instead of doing pure object recognition. So if you look at the bus, it shouldn't say "it's a bus" but tell you the number and destination of the bus. We have incorporated those learning in the form of a beta app that we now want people to try. The idea of this app is to understand how can such a service be improved and modified to be more meaningful. Please take it for a spin and provide us with honest feedbacks either from within the app or just email us at karthik@letsenvision.com

hey @nycefm, thanks for asking!

we currently have only have an iOS app out. An Android app isn't currently in our pipeline but we would work on it at a later stage. :)

Hello. I'd recommend that you post a topic on the applevis website. www.applevis.com I'm sure they would want to help you with your app.

Sounds interesting! Are you familiar with the Microsoft Seeing AI, and AIPoly apps?
