Student Interview Request - Assistive Technology (self.Blind)
submitted by tlarsonutt
Hello,
I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Tyler. One of the courses I am taking this semester is EDCI 5334, Learning Technologies and Disabilities. As part of this course, students are to conduct an interview with someone who makes use of assistive technology. Common examples include things like screen readers, apps, and other tools used by many of the users of this subreddit.

I'm looking to find someone willing to share their experiences in using this technology and how it interacts with their daily life. I'm hoping someone here might be willing to share their experiences.

The interview would be a short 10-20 minute conversation, conducted over Skype call, phone call, or any other convenient method. Any information gathered would remain confidential and would only be used for a course report submission.

If anyone here would be interested and willing to share their thoughts and experiences, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

EDIT - Update 10/16/2017
Thank you for all those who responded. I had a very informative and fun conversation with u/fastfinge this evening. He gave me a lot to think about and gave me some great information and perspective on various aspects of assistive technology for the blind and visually impaired community. Thank you very much!

Sure, why not? I'll be around for most of tomorrow. I can do phone or skype or google hangouts; take your pick.

I live in the UK, is that okay? If you're interested in interviewing me about the screen readers I use, feel free to PM me and we can go from there.
