Research Project Questions (self.Blind)
submitted by ACT_UWE
Hi everybody,

Me and my friends are doing an Internet of things (connecting an everyday object to the internet) project at University. The project falls under the title accessibility and we are starting to do our research. Unfortunately none of us know anyone with a visual impairment, so wondered if anybody had a few spare minutes if they could answer some of our questions?

We would really appreciate it, even if you don't answer them all !

Thank you in advance !

Questions:

What does accessibility mean to you?
How do you feel that technology could aid accessibility?
Is there anything in particular that you struggle with when using different kinds of technology?
What is your biggest day to day struggle?
How do you learn information best?
If you could improve anything about your university what would it be?
If you could improve anything about your home what would it be?

Any extra advice/information or comments would be greatly appreciated !

Hello. I will paste the questions below and answer them to the best of my ability.

What does accessibility mean to you?

Accessibility means that I, and others like myself can use technology.

do you feel that technology could aid accessibility?

Yes. Things like Robots to help those who have trouble getting in and out of bed, robots to help the blind get from point one to point two would be great.

Is there anything in particular that you struggle with when using different kinds of technology?

No.

What is your biggest day to day struggle?

I don't really have any as I live with my grandparents.

How do you learn information best?

By working with my hands.

If you could improve anything about your university what would it be?

I don't go to university.

If you could improve anything about your home what would it be?

I don't think my home needs improving.
