Do blind people play dungeons and dragons(self.Blind)

What's it like, do you play with sighted people, how do you keep track of your character?

My husband wrote about how he runs games $1 When he’s a player he mainly keeps a text file with his character info that he edits as we play.
There’s a whole podcast with blind players called Going in Blind as well if you’re interested.

I am sighted, but I was the dungeon master for a campaign with two severely visually impaired friends, and they kept their character sheets in a text file and just arranged it in order of how often they would need to use each stat, they were super efficient about it!
I never use the miniatures/grid anyways so that made no difference. They said they had a really great time and I did too!

I regularly play Pathfinder, and keep my character’s stats in an Excel spreadsheet. It’s easy to keep track of info, especially when using Excel’s ability to automatically calculate things.

I'm legally blind and have enjoyed D&D for years If someone wanted to play i doubt that their group wouldn't be willing to help them. After awhile you begin to have your stats memorized. It may also be beneficial to play a more simple class so there is less to track.

I'm not totally blind yet, but I play D&D and more (WFRP2e, SR5e, Paranoia and more). I'm close to an exclusive DM/GM, but I do occasionally play (I was in a game on Roll20 for three months this year).
When running games, I write things up in word, large font size, white on black, and PDF it for use on my tablet at the table. I've a magnifying glass to help with content from books if it is needed (e.g. Monster Mannual). I do as much as possible in theatre of the mind, but if required I have a battlemat (three actually), whiteboard markers, and heaps of miniatures. I rely on the players to draw up rooms, move monsters for me etc. I'll have to modify what I do a little when I'm total, but for the most part it'll be the same.
As a player, I can use the form fillable PDF character sheets. In the future though, if I'm a player I think I'll just use Word and write things out and record stuff digitally only (I'm pretty big on being paperless in general). I'm guessing there are talking dice aps out there, but I like rolling physical dice so it'll probably be up to others to read in the future.
As for online play, I really don't like Roll20 as a platform. Mate of mine has played on Fantasy Grounds and says it is much better, but it's more than just the interface itself (which is clunky and has some issues with high contrast/negative colour). It's just not the same as playing at a table, and you're constantly having issues with delay, silences, people going to talk to fill the silences only to find othes had the same idea because they were also waiting for others, only one person can talk at a time etc. I can't really comment a huge amount on the accessibility of these platforms for people who're totally blind, and I'm unlikely to ever find out because of disliking online as a platform for playing tabletop RPGs.
