Hey fellow redditors! I’m taking a sketch-writing class and wrote a sketch about blind people based on an encounter I witnessed on the subway. Basically, a group of blind people boarded the train and it was crowded, so they bumped into each other a lot before making their way to seats. One of the guys in the group joked, “Wow! Instead of bumper cars, it’s like bumper blind people.” Not the best joke, but it made me chuckle.

Anyway, one student in my class said the sketch might be offensive, and that I should try to find out what blind people might think of it. I think it’s a valid critique since I myself am not blind and don’t want to make fun of an entire group of people.
