All of these questions seem to be for a family member of a blind person, and not blind people.

Why would a family member be more qualified to know what kind of mobility aids blind people prefer to use?

Or did you just not realize that blind people could answer your survey?

The correct term for "walking stick" is either white cane, or mobility cane.

For question 4, handheld obstacle detectors are not designed for stand alone usage. Every one is suggested to be used with a white cane for safety reasons, as they cannot detect drop-offs.

You should consider talking to a local Orientation and Mobility Specialist if you are interested in doing a project on this. There are a few things they can clear up that can give you a better idea how to proceed.
