TL:DR of original post. Going to meet my fiances dad for the first time, and he expressed a fair amount of disapproval towards me, mostly based around my blindness, and false assumptions he made about blind people.

I could either write a novel about how it went, or just a few words. So as not to over share, I'll keep it short.

We never had a sit down talk, man to man, like I expected. He never voiced one concern about me as a person, or my blindness, while we were visiting him. He did ask about my living situation, my job, my family history, my goals in life, etc, and answering those questions with no regards to my vision, helped show him that I'm just like anyone else he'll ever meet, and more ambitious than most people.

All in all, I did not ask for his blessing, as our decision to get married has nothing to do with him. That being said, I feel that if I did ask, he would have said yes.

Thank you to the people that comment on my original post, both in this sub, and in others.
