Recruiting People with visual disabilities into Microsoft accessibility studies... (self.Blind)
submitted by AccessibilityURC
Hi.. hope no one minds a "commercial" intrusion! I'm recruiting people with visual disabilities into a program that pairs people with disabilities directly with developers at Microsoft. I know there are doubters, but I know these developers and they are truly dedicated to improving their programs/apps/devices/etc. to be more accessible to people with all kinds of disabilities. If you're interested in possibly joining the Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC), check out our website: https://accessibilityuserresearchcollective.org/ or just hit me up with your questions. Is it required to be an U.S. resident to participate? Currently, i live in Mexico but i'd like to help, since i mostly use Microsoft stuff.

Thanks in advance for the answer.

Hi DiegoARL38,
Unfortunately, for the present, it has to be US residents only. I am truly sorry about that.

It's okay, i understand. Well, I'll make my suggestions by the normal channels, then.

Thanks for your time and for your answer.

I am mostly a Mac user but I can help when I have time.

Dear estj136,
As long as you use Microsoft software sometimes, and are familiar with how Windows 10 works, you should feel free to apply. I go back and forth between Win and Mac systems all the time...
And applying doesn't mean you will immediately be asked to join a project; when Microsoft comes to us with a research project that matches a disability you have, then we reach out to you, and you can decide then whether you have the time to participate or not.
