Fable Tech Labs is a Toronto start-up that focuses on making it easier for companies to engage diverse users in web and software development. We have created a prototype of a platform where individuals with a visual impairment can have an account, access ‘tickets’ and test websites.

We are searching for an expert screen reader user for part-time work as an accessibility tester.


### Role of accessibility tester: ###

The successful candidate will be testing client facing web sites via desktops/ tablets/ mobile/ across different browsers for accessibility. The selected individual must be an expert user of any of the screen readers: NVDA, JAWS or Voice Over.

Candidates will need to have highly effective communication skills, ability to quickly learn client requests and run tests on their digital platforms. This individual will also provide recommendations to the design and development teams on how to improve the user experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Use Fable’s platform to gather requirements, perform tasks and provide feedback

- Analyse client requirements and obtain clarifications

- Provide detailed feedback on how to improve the experience

- Engage in discussions around improving the testing platform

### Requirements: ###

- Proficient skill set with screen reader technology

- Expertise in AODA Accessibility A and AA Standards

- Experience testing front end client facing sites via Desktop and Mobile using devices

- Experience with NVDA/JAWS/Voiceover

- Strong problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

- Pro-active, result-driven attitude with great teamwork skills

- Experience in Web, Mobile, and Accessibility QA testing is a plus

- Knowledge of QA methodologies and software development life-cycle is a plus

- Experience in working with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus
