So Josh Sundquist's most recent book focuses on the story of Will who, in short, was born blind but then decides to transfer to a mainstream school to show how much more independent he is and also is able to get a new surgery to be able to see near the end of the book. I just finished reading it and it left my expectations really low. I'm sighted and I'm not sure if Sundquist had any input from an actual blind person, the whole book sounded like it was written by a sighted person (this is because it sounds so close to what I probably would have written if I'd been given the chance to write on this idea). It's not horrible, Sundquist describes everything about the blindness like canes and such right, it just has a lot of awkwardness to it. Has anyone here who's blind read this book yet, and if so what do you think?
